Passat b6 2.0 tdi 140 bhp coilover help?

hi I am new to the forum and would like some info on my car
It's a 2.0 tdi 140 bhp b6 on a 56 plate I recently was looking at coilovers for my model when I noticed there are two different strut sizes?? 50 mm or 55 mm and it's got me wary of buying the coilovers I am going to buy without a bit of advice from here first so if anyone could help it would be very much great full thanks in advance
