New Passat owner here (and new forum member). I have searched this but cant find a thread with DPF in it (or am I missing something?)
I have just bought a b6 2010 Estate diesel with a DPF, rightly or wrongly..
I understand that since Feb this year you now can't have it removed on MOT grounds, so:
Can anyone with a DPF please offer me some sound advise on correct management or routine to keep one in the best shape?
I work 13 miles from home and do around 7 urban miles in the morning before around 8 miles on a dual carriageway.
This is not sustained speed, has a roundabout half way. The same journey is reversed in the evening, I do this 5 days a week normally.
How about forced regeneration, this seems a very conflicting argument too.
I read/heard varying ideas from people but obviously this is THE place to ask.
Also, I was wondering about any sort of fuel additive, would this help? I am fairly worried about the DPF, just would like to maximise my chances with it's lifespan.
