Hi all. Hoping for help with a hot start issue. My 2005 bkp passat had developed starter problems, when nipping into a shop I came back out and it wouldn't start... This was after having problems similar to this before- it would eventually turn over after several tries. But eventually, it went dead-no turn. I had it towed to an electrical workshop and they rebuilt the starter. This was fine until the same problem returned, with the starter getting lazy and eventually not turning over at all. I got a new starter fitted recently, and yep, still it's there.
Is the problem the temperature coolant sensor, the crank sensor or some problem with a tail light switch I've been hearing about? Can anyone suggest a reason?
It works fine from a cold start... But I can't leave the engine running every time I nip into a shop or stop to get diesel!
Hot start problem
