Passat 2ltr diesel 140hp estate hil , DSG gearbox , 100k miles. FSH.

This problem has dogged me for a couple of years. Approximately after the
85k service, the car body or perhaps engine would noticeably shake At about
2cycles a second when driven from stand still to approx 50mph, never noticed
it at much above this speed, seems like its the engine shaking but not 100%
sure. ( Engine revs and wheel speed do not effect the shaking frequency )
Cannot be felt through the steering. ( changed all tyres for new , still no
change.)
The problem manifests itself only occasionally but is more
prevalent when the car is heavily loaded, and noticeably made much worse
when towing a caravan.
The most obvious way of spotting it is if you do a hour trip down the
motorway and then pull off and stop at the first junction from the motorway.
Pulling away the car or engine will shake as described up to approx 50 mph
from stand still. Generally is is not repeated to the same degree.
I cannot even guess what may be wrong, so i have not replaced anything, just
lived with it assuming the problem would get worse or a engine fault light
would give me a clue.
Anyone got any clues, so i can try and isolate this problem.
Cannot really tow my caravan due to this problem,
i am sure some of you will see this as a positive.
