Vagcom and remap

Hi there guys. Just a little question. My HID keeps cutting out when I try using the beams and I understand I need to check certain things so this doesnt happen. Can I ask if there is anyone in the leeds area with a vagcom that would do me a favour abc check it for me please?
And one other question. Would it be wise remapping a 170 dsg for more fuel and economy or just leave it as it is and leave it stock? Never had a remap done and I'm unsure of it all.
