Emissions Fault! Workshop!

Post by Dellgloom »

About two weeks ago, got in the car, fired it up, was presented with;

"Emissions Fault! Workshop!" - Engine light on
then about 5 seconds after start....
"Engine Fault! Workshop!" - Flashing heater plug/coil light.

Turned it off and on a few times, didnt go. Car drives perfectly though.

Got home, plugged in the VAGCOM;

I read on an Audi forum about changing the fuse, which also controls the air conditioning... Looked in the Haynes, and found it under the bonnet (I forget the label of the fuse, i'll find out and update).

Replaced the fuse, also stripped off the intake flap to see if it was full of gunk... Nothing major really, but cleaned it anyway, as well as the EGR.

Put it all together, new fuse in, ran absolutely fine for about a week and a half... Now, the exact same again.

It blows a new fuse instantly, and the same error codes are displayed.

At the moment ive got the Intake Manifold Flap unplugged, as that way the fuse wont blow, and I still have AC. Only 1 error code displayed in VCDS.

As soon as I plug it back in, the fuse pops.

TPS want £294 all in for the flap.... Anything else I can try?

Will it be causing any damage to the car, as I understand the flap is only closes for 3 seconds when the engine shuts down, to starve it of air and give a smoother stop? I havent really noticed any difference though?

Any help would be great guys.
