Juddering / Misfire on accelerating around 3k rpm

I have a very annoying problem with my 2.0TDi 170, on accelerating hard such as overtaking, when the engine is around 3000rpm its like it's misfiring, or a strong judder. Anyone else experience this? Thanks :)
