Cornering headlights

I recently bought a 3.2 V6 4motion with cornering headlights.
I am puzzled as to what needs to be done when taking the car to France.
The handbook says headlight position has to be altered and headlight positioning motor deactivated, and refers me to a qualified workshop. Has anyone had this done? Is it expensive? and when I come home I will have to pay to have it set up again!!!!!
