Hi all,
I'm sorry to start another newby thread BUT I'm looking at buying my first Passat. I was looking at a 2009/2010 B6 and i think i should mention i tend to buy a car and keep it and run the miles up (hence why i'm looking at a young one)
I was lookng at the 2.0TDI 140PS Estate
But I've been reading through the forum and some other articles and have seen that this engine seems to get a slating on loom failures and disturbingly oil pump/turbo failing.
So my questions are: Did anything change onto the latest models to get rid of these problems?
Also how common are these problems am i looking at big bills every year?
Or should i be looking at a different engine?
I want something practical to get everything in, with reasonable tax and MPG that starts first time and doesn't spend it's life off the road but also don't want a complete tank with no go (hence 140 with the possibility to map to 170 later). I breifly thought of an A4 (sorry) with the 3.0TDI engine but the extra insurance for the Audi badge put me off ;)
Any help will be greatly appreciated I'm just confused now!
Another Newby B6 question. Sorry!
