Whistling sound when moving off in 1st gear.

Hello All,

I have started noticing a whistling sound from the engine when move off in 1st gear, this happens only when I put my foot heavy on the accelerator and the sound goes of once the car moves off. This is on VW Passat 2.0 TDI 140PS, which has done 86K. I searched the internet and could find something like this is a sound from turbo, but no convincing explanation. Has anyone come across this before?
