Dads a mechanic, so he said he would have a go. Does it really need to be programmed to the car? How difficult is the loom to change?

Just got home from a 7 hour tow from Liverpool to Durham. On a lighter note, Holiday Inn Express at Liverpool John Lennon Airport gave me a free hot chocolate because they felt sorry for me.
