Gremlins in dash lights cruise control and handbrake

Coming home from gatwick last week on the M25 after a nice relaxing break , i had my cruise control set at 70mph been going about an hour,suddenly the car accelerated on its own.
i flicked the C/Control off then the dash lit up, Park light,esp,and no handbrake sign, the car was running fine so i kept on going and the car got me home ok.
Now this week going to work, the dash lights have come on again, with the ping ping sound with the P light flashing on and off, so i kept on going
gets home parked on drive,No handbrake...... switch the ignition on and off a few times and now the Handbrake is ok.
Bleeding gremlins
