no lights on dash when trying to start

Hi as any one had my problem go to start the car 06 passat 2ltr tdi put the key in no lights comes on only a clicking noise for about 30 seconds them dash lights up and can then press key and starts run OK, VW dealer had two goes to fix
but problem come back, in tomorrow for a fix reset last time four weeks with help from VW tec uk.

UPDATE needs new steering lock and ecu to read lock VW will give them as Goodwill, Thanks to my local dealer in Boston Lincolnshire to be fitted 5/2/2010
