Major Help Needed

I have bought a golf GTI multifunctional steering wheel for my 06 passat, i also got the slip ring and control module from the same car, fitted the steering wheel and functions dont work ( enabled them in vagcom) went to change the control unit and slip ring but the one that came with the wheel is different to mine and wont fit. contacted my local main dealer and he said that i need the chassis no of the car that the wheel came from, i cannot contact the guy that i bought it from. i was wondering if anyone on here with a passat with steering wheel controls and possibly cruise control would give me there chassis no so i could go to the main dealer and try and get the correct slip ring and controller, apparently there are loads of different types. i know its alot to ask but i would really appreciate it, steering wheel cost a fortune and really would like to get the buttons working
