EXTRA HEATER?

Hello new to this site and it looks very good i was wondering if any one can help me i own a 2.0 ltr tdi 140 sport 07 plate with 6000mls not had it long anyway on start up in cold mornings i am getting a puff of blue smoke i spoke to the main dealer and was told it was a second heater for cold morning starting below 4 degrees i was wondering if this is true or was he trying to cover up somthing more sinister any help would be great
