Replacement key circuit board

Post by jnix »

Hi everyone

Key fob for my B6 stopped unlocking the car today. Lock and boot unlock buttons work fine.

I managed to get in using the valet key, so that's not a problem.

I took the key apart and I can see that the microswitch thing on the circuit board for that button doesn't "click". I know it's possible to solder on a new switch, but I think that's beyond my skills.

So my question is: would a whole replacement circuit board, as seen on ebay (like the circuit board included in this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373802028884), work? If that's the only thing I changed in the fob, does anyone know if I wouldn't need to get it recoded?
