Passat b6 2.0 tdi 170 Exhaust options.

Just got my car serviced and I have been told that exhaust sytem is corroded. Need to know what my options are? Car has reached 100k so should I consider dpf removal too? Car is registered 2006 so if mot regulation changes will I be ok as it affects cars 2009 onwards. I got lots of gaps in my understanding so your expertise is requieed. I am looking for a cheap solution. One that will not cause any problems with mot of the car and preferably some extra bhp off course. Maybe it is too much to ask....
