EGR Delete - who's done it?

Post by 64 SPLIT »

My 2.0TDI sport (BKP) has started losing coolant - the expansion tank needs topping up every 250 miles or so.
From initial investigations it appears to be from the EGR cooler. I'm going to have the garage run a pressure test to properly diagnose, however, if it is the cooler I'm torn between replacing the EGR cooler with a new one (and cleaning the EGR valve whilst I'm tinkering) or considering buying an EGR delete kit from Darkside?

If you've done this to yours, have you had any issues with it?
Do you need to delete the DPF filter? And if so does it have to be removed at the same time, or can it be done at a later date?

My passat is knocking on for 200K on the clock but other than this coolant issue it runs extremely well and reliably.
It's had a new DMF, clutch and recon'd turbo 2 years ago and I've done 60K faultless miles since then, so I don't want to jeopardise the reliability as it's my daily hack!
