Fuel leak

I noticed an oil patch on the road outside my house yesterday. I thought it was from someone else until I looked underneath the car today. This is the oil on road. It's not main engine oil. It's too far away from it.



When I looked underneath the car it looked like it was sweating but not leaking badly. I took these primitive photos. It's just after half way down the car on driver side. About a foot before the rear wheel.




Looks quite wet by those connector pipes. Anyone got any idea what's going on? what lurks behind that big cover and is the car safe to drive?
Any pointers appreciated....lee.
