Electronic Parking Brake Failure

Hi Guys,

My car went in for a service and brake pads at a local mechanic on friday, he said he couldn't do the rear pads due to his machine not recognising the car and advised that I take it to a main dealer. Drove the car home with no issues.

I have had numerous issues with the local stealership and was looking around for a local VW independant specialist.

I went to go out today and was greeted by a Parking Brake Failure Light and the Parking Brake Light flashing and "binging" at me. It feels like the drivers side is not releasing and the car is now stuck on the drive.

Any idea's or suggestions, from recommended local mechanics, to manual overrides or reset's that I can try to get moving again and possible causes, fixes and costs. Any help will be much appreciated!!!
