My Passat B6 Boot Lid

Hi Guys
i just bought a 55 plate b6 and while everything in the last week has been absolutley spot on. i woke up this morning to find the boot lid open. checked for damage and items in the boot and no damage visible and all the items are still present, so i dont think it has been forced open. problem is the boot wont latch back down even though i have reset the latch so the little arm can grab the bar once it has closed. my garage still has this under the 28 day warrenty thank god so im taking it down there today. however i was looking to see if any 1 else has had this problem with their b6 and is it a common occurance. prices through the vw dealerships are stupid so i would be willing to take out an extra warrenty / insurance package.
