Condenser change

Hi All,

My air con has been blowing warm in my 2011 B7 Passat so I had the system leak tested and they have diagnosed a leak in the condenser unit. I am keen to replace this myself however I have a few concerns:

1) I have read a lot about the systems having to vacuumed/drained prior to any work being carried out? Does this apply for me as my system was nitrogen leak tested?

2) As above if my system is empty can I not change the condenser then have the system vacuumed/regassed?
