Climate Control not working

Hi,
Have a 62 plate Passat and the fan for the climate control has stopped working. All the lights on the dash Climate Control are working and all the vent flaps are working when I push the buttons to go from window vent to internal vents it is just the fan that does not work.
Have checked all fuses inside car and inside engine with Multimeter and they are all OK.
Do you think this could be a faulty fan motor as I am thinking of taking a gamble and buying a new fan motor and having it fitted hoping this will fix the issue?
Any help and advice will be mostly appreciated.
