It’s always been a bit ‘wobbly’ in 5th (sometime popping out). Currently if I’m in neutral with the clutch pedal down and engine running, it’s fine, but if I lift the pedal, there’s a loudish grinding noise like something is loose/rubbing. Stops when I press the pedal again.
Also if I’m pootling along in 4th/5th it’s fine, but under load it kind of gives a quiet ‘clak clak clak’ noise. Initially thought it could be a compression leak, but with the gearing problems, I wonder if it’s the gearbox rather than a leak.
Does anyone have any experience with something like this?
I'm really hoping it's not a gearbox replacement job
