Buying until I read this !!!

I was in the market for a replacement for my B5, something like a B7 2.0d estate until I read this forum !!! They seem like nightmare cars ?

I was first going to buy a B6 estate until I learned about the hex drive on the oil pump failing (unless you get a 57 or later reg). Then I saved up a bit longer to spend around 7k on a B7 estate....but not I'm not so sure ?

Our other car is a 15 plate Touran 1.6 diesel and although it goes well the emissions update took all the life out of the engine, so much that I'm tempted to remap it.
