EA189 'Emissions Scandal' Update

Hi all,
I've checked on the VW check site to see if my B7 Passat Estate 180bhp has had the emission EA189 update and it confirms it has been updated...

This has me slightly worried as I read that basically the fix itself causes a catalogue of engine problems.
I do plan to get a remap shortly, but should I be worried in the short term? The car itself drives faultless at the minute!
