Tuning boxes, or not!

Ive looked into getting my 2.0TDI 140bhp (blue motion) remapped to give a little more ooomph whilst towing.
Almost everyone suggests a remap as its bespoke and made for the car and not to touch tuning boxes.
However, ive spoke to several people who have had tuning boxes for years on other cars and are more than happy with them.
There is a significant price difference from a remap to the majority of tuning boxes (£250+ compared to £70)
Does anyone know of a tuning box that they can recommend?
