What are the differences between a normal passat and a rline passat?
Besides the obvious, where the rline passat is lower and the front bumper is different, what else is different?

The R-line has 18" Kansas wheels, bi-xenon headlights and LED tail lights, different bumpers and side skirts. Inside is a bit poverty spec as it's based on the S model.

Personally I would go for a Sport with a few options or an Executive Style
2004 V6 TDI gone and replaced with a 2011 TDI Sport DSG which has gone too.

Thanks for the reply.
I've currently got a 2011 passat but I do like the look of the r-line passat although cosmetically they do look the same. The one I saw which was a 2015 was very low spec. Only the drivers seat was electric and had no DCC, no stop and start and no leather.

The 2018 spec rline has had some goodies thrown at. Premium LED headlights for one. Dynamic lights at the rear.
You get a sunroof, panoramic at the rear. R line leather seats and styling.
Three zone climate control. Different 18" wheels.
Ambient lighting.
It's a bit like the GT model but with rline styling.
Passat r-line estate 150 diesel - company car, no way I could afford one!

2015 would have been new shale wouldn’t it?

Couldn’t have been a genuine r line they all have half leather and even poverty spec has DCC.

Difference? R Line drivers are more obsessed with what others think about their cars looks, to the expense of more substantial options. :hyst

Given that this is the B7 section, I'd guess that the OP has been looking at B7's
2004 V6 TDI gone and replaced with a 2011 TDI Sport DSG which has gone too.

That’s why I said if it was a 2015 model surely it would have been the new shape.

When I was looking for a new car the 2015 I looked at was a b7 and not a b8. It was definitely the old shape. I decided in the end to get the 2011 as it was 4wd and had most of the options and low kms 59000 approximately. No park assist though. The wife would have liked that.

Take a look at the "Executive Style" model. Similar to the Rline but without the Rline badge and flat bottom steering wheel. The kit varies slightly but it has Leather heated seating etc.
