Corner turning fog lights and remote mirror folding

Post by Adrian888 » Sat Dec 23, 2017 6:50 pm

I have seen on YouTube a B7 Alltrack with remote operation of folding mirrors from the key. Can this function (along with turn activated fog lights) be easily? Or is it a factory only software install?

I'm sure it could be done with vcds or even the carista app and a Bluetooth dongle

I've done folding mirrors on my 2017 Seat Alhambra using OBDeleven I'm sure you could do the dogs as well but mine are already activated. The dealer said folding mirrors were not possible shows what they know!

They should come set for corning fogs from the factory also with fogs when you are in reverse. Both are switchable using VCDS. However I've turned mine off on my Amarok as I don't like the way the halogen fogs don't match the xenon headlights.

As for the mirrors, I pressume you have electric folders already?

Thanks for replies and yes the car already has electric folding mirrors. My wife’s new Seat has both functions but also has keyless entry so had thought they might be part of that software package/functions.

Hi, with regards to "turn activated fog lights" , my Alltrack has 2x light units, the inner bulb is just for the turn actvated cornering lights & the outer bulb is just for the fog lights. When i select reverse one set comes on, but im not sure which. As for folding mirrors, i've not got them, but would love to retro fit them, so im watching this thread closely. When i lock the car with the remote if i hold the lock button my windows close & my panaramic roof closes , if that helps ?

You have xenons then. Yours corning lights are where cars with halogen headlights have their DRLs. Halogen cars use their fog lights for the cornering light function.

Holding the lock button on the remote closes the windows and sunroof on all cars. As for folding mirrors, you need to replace the complete mirror units as well as the switch, then code the door control unit to make them work. They should also have the passenger side tilt down in reverse option too.

Yes, you are correct, I have xenons. Thanks for the info regarding the mirrors.... Guess I'll start trawling eBay for parts for the folding mirrors. Cheers

If I need to replace the mirrors it won’t be happening but don’t understand why I do not have the corner turn Light function, I thought that was standard on the Alltrack.....

The car will have the function, it just need activating. It was either forgotten at the factory, or it has been turned off with VCDS. It's only a case of ticking a box.

Where abouts are you? I'm sure if you are close to someone on here that could help, they would activate it for you, as well as unlock a few other hidden features. I'm in South Shropshire if that helps.

Hi everyone this is my first post.

I activated remote folding mirrors with vcds. I found this on mytiguan forum. You need gen4 door module and have power folding mirrors. Don't need memory seat.

I will try find this and post link if anyone intrested.
