Consumption after 'factory reset'

Post by rossiepriory »

Hi, my 2.0 tdi 140 DSG Passat had a starting problem which was eventually traced to a faulty battery. However in the diagnosis the ind elect engineer said he had to 'reset' the car to factory settings. I thought nothing of this but have now noticed that my consumption has gone down on the same long run from 69mpg to 55mpg- not happy.

Is it possible that this reset would effect consumption? I knew previous owner of car and it was always just serviced as a normal company car ie no extra tuning.

Any thoughts welcome. If I have to 're-tune' it must it be done by the dealer or can anyone with the software do it?
