New Key -- source in North West

Is VW the only reliable place to get a spare key for a 2013 B7 - two non VW companies have tried now, both have failed, the price from VW is eye watering and exploitation £400 by the time it's coded to the car (the part every place I've tried has failed at - opening the door is easy - fooling the cars immobiliser not so).

I want a genuine fob, but at £378 I find it hard to justify, it would seem that like Audi each car has a unique ID embedded in a chip on the key, the car will refuse any key that doesn't contain it, the unique ID can't be read by any currently available tools and hence can't be replicated. I'm happy with this security - what I'm not happy with is the exploitation that goes with it - VW can name whatever price they wish - and have done so.

So .. are there any places that can do genuine keys for sensible money anywhere in the North West ?
