header tank low

Post by steve9bug »

Right done 900 miles plus in my car and the header tank has dropped down to the minimum mark two times in them miles and not when running but after letting it stand has indicated it needed coolant.
Looking inside the header tank the prongs don't go as far down as a mates with the same car and his coolant was right on the lower level line same as mind but not asking to be topped up as the two prongs were deeper in the coolant.
I have no temp issues when running and the fan cuts in as it should, i have had a pressure drop test done on the system and that was on for three hrs and no drop so no leaks to be found.
Has anyone had the same and what was the issue if any, thanks in advance.
I have been told that the header tanks can be at fault and are only about £30 is it worth changing it.
