B7 140bhp DSG good buy?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and could do with some advice. A friend has the above company car which has done 95k 'motorway' miles.(12 plate). He has the chance to purchase on receipt of his new one. I'm keen to buy his old one but as my annual mileage will be around 6k ( my idea being it will even mileage out and lower depreciation going forward).
If I have the car properly serviced will I have problems with the dpf despite the short journeys mon-fri with occasional longer weekend trips? The reason I ask is a local mechanic told me if you use the appropriate 'low ash' oil then despite journey length the dpf shouldn't be an issue. Should I be overly concerned as I really like the car!
Any other issues I should consider?
