Not keen on the eye brows, they should remain in the 90’s!

I thought that too. I'm guessing that Raf is running out of things to do to his car.

What’s wrong with the cars from 90s??

I thought that the best cars were born during these years...

Anyway, I saw Golf r with the same mod, suited it perfectly hence I thought I’d try the same...

Thanks for honest opinions, I have mixed feelings about them as well

Such a subtle mod, I almost missed it... I think they look good on the lamps. I must be getting old or stuck in the 90's :hyst

Just had the car tuned to stage 1 tonight using Revo Software:

Power. Torque
Stock 160ps 184lbft
REVO Stage 1 Software from 200ps to 220ps from 245lbft to 275lbft

http://www.revotechnik.com/products-for ... gineid=102

Must say it pulls like a train now and in gear acceleration is amazing, 2nd and 3rd are particularly amazing, defo feels like a proper GTI now, pleased with the result 🙂

Hi all.
I've just picked up my first Passat.
It's a 2013 (63) 2.0 TDi R line Estate.
It has had the VW emissions recall completed and I know how bad that can be so today I had it booked in for an APR re-map. Unfortunately they havent got the required software for my engine/ECU combination so I will have to wait until APR sort that out which should be next week.
I am also after some Eibach Sportline lowering springs and was wondering if Gazwould could help me out with the part numbers.
My axle loads are
Front: 1120kg
Rear: 1110kg
From what I can see on Larkspeed I should be buying
E21-85-016-02-22
I just want to double check before ordering.
Here's a little pic for now :esm

138bhp, CFFB, FWD 👍

I had a call this morning from the APR garage and they managed to sort out the software for my re-map so off I popped to have it done.

WOW! What a difference. Throttle response is much improved, the torque is simply lovely and the engine just feels a lot smoother.

So happy and would recommend having it done 😁

That's a shame, I would have preferred a bit more of a drop than the Pro kit.

Thank you for the info.

I will get some Pro kit springs on order and see how we get on with them 👍

I checked again and it's the one same Pro-kit for 138 , 140 , 170 and 177 fwd .

Are you renewing dampers and top mounts ?

Cracked it !

These particular extra low Sportline springs are exclusive to Larkspeed and indeed the correct part number for your axle weights you quoted .

They don't show up on Eibach's online catalogue and don't come up with an answer entering
E21-85-016-02-22 in it's parts lookup either .

They are one part number for B6 and 7 , 2wd , wagon or saloon , no mention of engine which is very unlike Eibach .

For instance for my wagon there are 6 different Pro kits inc 4Motion and 6 different for the saloon !

You can re-use dampers and top mounts if in good condition as gizmo did but I would recommend renewing with shorter Bilstein B8 dampers .

Brilliant. Thank you for your help.
Like you, I think it's a little strange that there aren't more variants of the extra low spring and it's weird that they are exclusive to Larkspeed. This puts me off a little.
I will have a think about what I would like and get them on order.
At the minute I think I might stick with the Pro Kit, standard shocks and new top mounts. 👍

gizmo had both and reconded the Sportline ran smoother !

Hello All. New to the forum and new to my new to me B7 Estate Executive Style 177 in candy white. Some awesome B7’s on here.

Being an old fart, my modding days are long gone, however, I’d really like to add a few choice extra’s, some of which I’m having trouble finding, and could do with some help.

Having read all 61 pages of Raf’s thread I’ve found two eBay links to Chrome tailpipes but wanted to check they are going to fit my exhausts/model and if not can anyone recommend?:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/Rupse-EA99EMT0 ... 1348730282

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2PCS-CHROME-EX ... 0898978094

Also, I guess mine has had the emissions recall done. We never bothered on our other Vag cars so should I book it in somewhere for this to be wiped/remapped? Anyone recommend anyone to do this in Milton Keynes?

Thanks, and I’ll post some pics soon. I got lucky with the spec it seems, it even has rear heated seats. The leather is in a funky brown which was odd at first but is growing on me.

Hi
I have these fitted to mine, fits in a matter of seconds and doesn't have an unsightly jubilee clip on show ;)

Regarding the emissions update, pop your reg into VW's checker, and if it's been done, a rollback to pre-emissions file will be the best way to restore reliability. If it has not been done, don't take it to VW and find yourself a good independent garage to meet your car's needs in future.

Can't comment on the tailpipes, but regarding mapping whether it has the 'fix' or not get it down to Ali @ Unit18 Automotive --> http://www.unit18.co.uk/, he mapped my CC, and has transformed the car

Thanks @mrderv I’ll get those ordered.

Thanks @kartman I’ve heard of them, recommended by some colleagues. I understand that they confuse people by the name as they are not actually in unit 118? Can you tell me how it was transformed? All round performance or better pull etc?

They have an excellent reputation in the VAG stable as I first got to know about them from Briskoda when I had my Fabia, I travelled over an hour to get Ali to map my CC. Yes the name is confusing lol they have moved again recently but still not to a unit that's number 18 but they are now in a nice new bigger workshop. All round performance really, my CC was mapped from 170bhp to 210bhp with the Sharm Performance map Ali put on. The best bit is the extra torque, mine went from 350NM to 421NM. It is very linear though and pulls hard throughout the rev range you can drive it much more like a petrol. It now tows so well you would not think anything was on the back and acceleration for a 1.5 ton car is surprising. You won't regret it. You will even get better mpg if driven the same but I like to use the extra poke and still get 50 mpg happily

From memory it was something like £369 but it's worth giving Alistair a ring as they sometimes have deals on etc
