Grinding feel when pressing clutch pedal

Does anyone else suffer from this? Bought a 6 month old 14 plate 2.0 TDI Manual from Motorpoint just over 6 months ago and noticed it just after. Wasn't bothering me too much as it only happens above about 1800rpm so only feel it when changing up from 1st / 2nd and only as the pedal passes through the biting point. I'm racking the miles up fairly quickly so thought i'd wait until it's first service to have it looked at. My vw dealer agrees it feels harsh but won't investigate further without me paying to have the gearbox removed - apparently clutches are only covered by a 6 month warranty from new....

Any thoughts - the clutch works fine apart from this, no judder, not excessively heavy etc.
