Bluetooth and new phone

I have just purchased a new B7 2011 with multi function controls. The bluetooth setup has paired with my phone (Sony Erickson Xperia Arc) all is operational but will not load my phone book or contacts list. The display states "no entries"
Can anyone help or are the phone and VW bluetooth system not compatable.
