2016 CC - MYSTERY TMPS FAULT

Post by BakerBoy87 » Mon Nov 18, 2019 9:46 pm

Hi guys, long time lurker but first time poster, I bought another CC in September, over the past few weeks I’ve had this irritating problem with the TPMS, intermittently it will throw a amber warning on the dash stating “tyre pressure monitoring system unavailable”.

Using Carista it shows fault code 02214.

But it doesn’t say which component is faulty.

Went to a independent VW specialists and they checked it out and reset/cleared the code but it came back, I have since spent £700+ at VW and they still can’t get to the bottom of it, the warning keeps popping up.

They have now told me they have cleaned the wheel bearings and this should rectify the problem after having the car for 2 weeks, I just know it will come back as soon I collect the car again tomorrow.

Has anyone else encountered this problem on a VW before?

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

Educated guess is one or more wheel speed sensors.

I had the same randomly yesterday. Stability warning fault then tyre pressure. Turn off/on made them both go away. It was very wet and dirty roads, so presume a gunged up sensor.
