b7 tdi 2.0 se estates

Post by vwnutant » Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:39 pm

Hello ,

Looking around at the current prices of the b7 , it wont be for a few months yet as want to get my vrs knocking on the door of 300bhp first and then will probably sell lol as I do .....

Im looking at the 2.0 tdi se estate b7 - 60 reg onwards 2010/11/12 around 4.5k to 5.5k nothing more than 90k ideally ....

How much different are these from the earlier b6 models , and what other options do they have usually ? .....are they just as good for mapping etc ,and have these models got any new common faults other than the usual steering rack, rear brake calipers etc problems ? ie engines etc ?

cheers
ant

I'm not the most knowledgeable on here, but I do have a 2011 60 plate SE 2.0TDI B7 estate

I've had almost 20k trouble free miles since I got it (now on 125k) in terms of remapping they're good, I have the CR140 engine, and with a EGR+DPF delete plus a remap it's now at around 190bhp .. get the CR170 engine and do the same and you'll be around 210bhp I believe

I was warned of auto handbrake problems but it's been fine for me

That's what annoys me it's a waiting game for something to go t i t s up... and it will

Same with the stop start, that's turned off right away.

you will find as well a lot of people just quote and recycle things they've heard as common problems, without any idea if they actually are or not!

my auto stop/start hasnt worked since I got it, but I'm not bothered so have never looked into why lol

True but also what the mech I use told me from the stuff he fixes.

You didn't say if it's stuck on or off ie is it always stopping whether you like it or not or normal as I would call it.
I personally (and not just me) think it's a bloody stupid idea for the ice
