g39 heated oxygen sensor faulty, or is it?

Post by Alltrack16 »

The engine light was showing a couple of weeks back for about 3 days, then it disappeared. Having another job done today at my dealership and the engine light was on again. It was diagnosed as the g39 sensor which I believe is the manifold oxygen sensor. Driving it home just now, the light has gone out again after being on for two days. As the cost estimate was eye watering at £360, and it appears to be an intermittent fault, should I chance it and ignore it, or is it a sign that it'll go terminal soon? And will the car run roughly, or what? It's done 30k miles, not used that often. Thanks for any replies.
The more you have :D , the more you have to look after. :-s
