Changing Clutch/Dmf/pressure plate + Cambelt on 2.0L

Post by Gunner786 »

Hi guys cars running very good in the 3 weeks i have had it.
The flywheel is on its way as it makes a clicking sound when i press the clutch so will have to change the dmf and clutch. Mileage is 75k so timing belt is due aswell as it has got fsh but no record of cambekt change.

What im confused about is the pressure plates.
A mates pressure plate failing caused his gearbox to go aswell as ripping through the shell(his was also 11plate and 90k on the clock).
Should i change this aswell and how long do these things last?

Im going to drive it upto 80k but need the work doing on it as i am using it as a taxi.
I can get it done by independent garage cheaper but thinking wether to keep the fsh going and if its not too much more than indy then will get vw to do it.
Would appreciate any help on the pressure plates as i dont have a clue about them and cant find anything on google.
