autohold stopped working

must be the 4 year clich.. my car has turned exactly 4 and know various faults have started this started on a long drive back from wales today.

autohold has also worked fine, now all of a sudden it has stopped working completely.
so when i pull up engine auto start / stop works fine but hand break does not engage.
the same as i stop and park up.
all the usual correct procedure used etc.

just stopped working.

any idea?????

the handbrake works if manualy used.
