Last Sunday on the M6 my dsg Passat (tdi,140bhp) went into 'limp' mode after leaving a service area and wouldn't accelerate past 60mph (very scary!); no warning lights appeared. I managed to leave the motorway and got the breakdown people. No faults showed up on their diagnostic unit and the car now ran perfectly. Got home with no further problems and my local dealer did further diagnostic checks but definitely no faults shown. A technician suggested that the car was doing a dpf regeneration when it slowed so dramatically but I don't really believe that because there were none of the usual dpf regeneration signs.
I'd be very grateful for comments and/or ideas.
dpf regeneration or not?
