Front Lower Wishbone

Hi I'm trying to replace, the wishbone. The new one has a smaller end than the older one (hopefully you can see the picture) I've contacted the supplier and they are saying the end comes off the old one and slots on the new one. I've tried to remove it but it doesn't seem to come off. Is this true or is it the wrong part? Thanks
