Cupholder removal b5.5

Hi all.

Were the cupholders in the middle under the handbrake an option? Cause I would very much like to get rid of them.
There is basicly no space in the useless always sliding out of place armrest. I have an original double din radio, therefor no space to stow stuff there.
So that only leaves the place where these stupid cupholders are to put stuff.
