So before I rush off and buy a replacement, I like to try and fix as much as I can and am very happy to take stuff apart to clean/repair etc.
My passenger front won't lock when central locking activated (have to lock manually) however it will sometimes unlock when central unlock activated. I am aware that the microswitch can get gummed up and stop working, so the system isn't aware the door is closed etc. Is it just a case of removal of lock actuator, strip it and clean it etc?
I will be taking the metal door panel off soon anyway as I am adding sound dampening to the inner door skin and replacing the speakers, so the actuator will be accessible. I also think I have a few spare lock mechs in my spares, so might even be worth me stripping and cleaning a replacement lock ready.
As usual I seem to have answered my own questions whilst typing them out (like therapy) but would love to hear your thoughts if you've had the same thing.
