Airlock in cooling system after replacing thermostat.

Post by VW1.TDI »

I find myself at wit's end after replacing the thermostat..

After driving for 5 miles.. idling for 20 minutes... bottom hose is cold.. top gets warm.. I've tested the thermosat in a pan also which works.. tried squeezing the pipes..followed Haynes manual...Grrr!

Is there a bleed screw i need to 'bleed' the air out..? Heaters were serously hot in the car! After driving for 5 miles..but thermostat housing cold and bottom hose also
