Fuse for OBD2 scanner

Hi all.
I've just bought a scanner to check why my nearside rear door might not be opening and i cant get it to connect. I get the 'failed to connect' message on a Foseal FO-01 scanner. A couple of tinterweb/Youtubes suggest the fuse might have blown/been removed and say that the cigarette lighter fuse is sometimes used for the OBD socket....although my cigarette sockets are all working fine....so thought there might be a dedicated fuse.
