OK stupid question time regarding 312mm brakes...

I fitted the larger 312mm discs and carriers a while ago. All good.

But since I had the brakes off recently to replace the bearings etc, the pads on drivers sude started to rattle and click when brake pressed.

Today I had the wheels off and checked them over again and I could replicate the click noise by moving the pad in the carrier by hand. I swapped the drivers outer pad with the passenger side and the noise transferred so I'm presuming it's that specific pad

So my stupid question is this, as I have the larger discs and carriers, do I need to fit brake pads for the larger diameter brakes. (Typing this out makes the answer obvious but I thought I'd ask)
