New HU - speed of Bluetooth connect.

Right. Thought I'd ask here rather than the ICE section as I'd guess a lot of B5 owners have changed their HU. I've a Kenwood in mine and it does phone calls and music streaming with a remote mic - all I need. But ...... it takes ages for the Bluetooth connection to kick in. It always does but it's ratrher slow. Now the same phone connects a lot quicker to other BT decices so I'm guessing it's a HU thing.
Has anyone got a non-OEM HU that connects quickly via BT? How about these double-din units that run Android?
