Today I was going to put one of familys VW Passat Estate 4-Motion back in traffic after about a year standing.
I put in the battery in the engine compartment and turned the ignition on and started the car.
The engine fired up immediately and was running just fine.
...BUT the Yellow ABS light is on and after about a minute also the Red handbrake ligt comes on.
I took the car for a test run and everything working just fine but I have lost the ABS function.
I then took a VCDS test and gott 2 fault codes, I cleared them out and restarted the car but bouth fault codes come back.
What has happened with the car since I just have had it standing ? ? 
Fault code:
* 00287 ( Right Rear wheel sensor )
* 01200 ( Voltage for ABS valves )
